June 11-13, 2021, July 1-5, 2021, August 20-23, 2021
Kachemak Bay, Alaska
If you are interested in attending a retreat, please contact Stephanie at firstname.lastname@example.org
Meeting on the Homer Spit, our journey begins with a water taxi across Kachemak Bay. The boat will drop us off on a rocky beach on the Glacier Spit. The trail follows flat terrain through stands of cottonwoods & spruce, and across the dry outwash plain of Grewingk Glacier for an easy 3.3 miles. It ends at the broad open beaches of Grewingk Lake. This trail offers superb views of the glacier and its surrounding peaks. You will set up your camp on the shoreline within sight of icebergs floating right offshore. If you're feeling adventurous, you can swim out to one!
On the final day of the retreat, we will hike to Halibut Cove via the Saddle Trail which is about a 1hr/1.5 mile hike with approximately 200 ft of elevation gain and drops us back over into Halibut Cove where we will wait for our water taxi on a small sandy beach.
Optional day excursions:
Easy: Take time yourself to explore the vast lakeshore and outwash plain of the Glacier. Find your own secluded spot on the beach, go for a swim (I dare you!) out to one of the icebergs.
Easy/Moderate: Trek through the outwash plain or follow the trail (3 miles one way) to Grewingk Creek and explore the Hand Tram and venture to the other side of the Creek.
*Strenuous: The truly adventurous can continue past the hand tram for another 4.3 miles to get an up close and personal view of Grewingk Glacier along the Blue Ice Trail (~ 1,000ft elevation gain one way). Please speak with your guide if you consider this route and be prepared for a long strenuous day.
*Strenuous: Alpine Ridge Trail is a strenuous 3.8-mile one way hike to the upper portion of Alpine Ridge. From here you can bask in the magnificent 360-degree views of Kachemak Bay State Park, Grewingk Glacier, and surrounding areas. 2,000 ft elevation gain and mostly uphill. Prepare your legs and lungs.
*These longer excursions are best suited for our longer, multi day retreats in July & August.
"I highly recommend MindBloom and Pathways Alaska. Thank you to Stephanie and Ben for offering such an amazing experience. I could not have put this trip together better if I tried. They spent an outstanding amount of energy helping me find the answers I desperately needed. After that we spent time defining what those answers meant and, most importantly, guiding me through how to put that plan into action once I returned to my daily life. Now that I'm back life has changed I have changed and I have unconditional support from them. This is not about money it's about a genuine concern for your happiness and your ability to live your life guided by that. Thanks again for everything you have done, are doing and will continue to do. "
"Stephanie and Ben's Mind Body Soul Retreat ended up being the massive, gentle nudge that I needed to take some serious steps towards my most authentic self. Prior to the retreat, I had been going back and forth about some career and geographic changes that I felt I needed to make, but kept them at bay, making excuses for why I shouldn't take the leap and justifying that it 'wasn't the right time yet'. The opportunity they provided to step outside my comfort zone, physically and emotionally, in a vulnerable, trusting and safe container, allowed me to truly tap in to my core and release some blocks of fear I didn't realize were there. I am so grateful for both of them and the gifts they bring, as well as how gracefully they shared that space with everyone else and helped us elevate and recognize our own gifts as well. I would absolutely recommend joining them on a Mind Body Soul Retreat. Whether you are looking for a quiet weekend, a deep soul search, laughter, nature or connection with others, this is the retreat for you.
This trip was the best I’ve been on this year! The views, weather, people and experience was awesome. Me being an introvert I had mixed feelings about going with so many people I didn’t know but being able to be open, free or even independent to express any feelings and thoughts with the group was as beautiful as the space that it went down in. It was truly memorable, thank you!"
"My experience during the Grewingk Glacier Retreat in June was life changing, to say the least. Not only did I feel like I made friends with every single person there, but I felt at HOME. Every single moment was full of love and acceptance and transformation. Circle time definitely encouraged me to come out of my shell and speak more freely on not just what I was feeling, but WHY I was feeling that way too."

"I would recommend that people participate in this experience for several reasons! Stephanie and Ben are fun driven and mindful. This experience will set you back on your path and get you into the flow. The choice to stay in the flow is yours to make! I was moved and grew spiritually in ways I cannot explain in words. I healed past trauma, I was vulnerable, and I experienced a sense of love and community in the most beautiful setting. (back country Alaska) Listening to the others in the group and making new friends was also very healing. We had so much fun pack rafting, dancing and even swimming in a glacier lake. The things I talked about wanting to do at the retreat have now manifested into reality. The energy in my home and within myself has been cleared and renewed. I cannot recommend this experience enough, it’s life changing and will connect you to nature and Mother Earth."
"My husband and I participated in this experience together and I recommend it to all couples looking to connect and do something new. We both were able to talk about things in the group, checking in, sharing feelings and ideas. As well as going off and doing our own thing with out each other. Over all we are more confident and connected to earth and our purpose here. I’m extremely grateful for this life changing experience and to have shared it with my husband."
